The four seat aircraft came too late at the end of world war-II, since the helicopter would replace it as was then thought, but this was proved untrue, when in the 1950's many nations developed their own and Cessna came to the fore with a series of types that met the role required.

Today the survivor of the class lays in the Cessna 172 and its variants around the world that fulfills many roles both military and civil and despite it being replaced by drones pr the larger Cessna Caravan-II it remains very popular?

Many poorer or small nations have maintained the type for civilian usage, police and training before moving on to more complicated aircraft.

What was a pleasure experience has now become a weapon and many smaller nations are using these type for various roles, some armed, others working in teams to isolate various threats and also training pilots!

We don't hear much anymore about them and many have moved back over to gliders for the thrill of flight, rather than be accused of scarring people as one or more incidents were reported in the west-midlands last year!

Well this is what Boeing in Seattle is saying, wither it is true is another matter! 

As seen recently with the sad crash in Pakistan, pilots do not seem to have been trained very well in handling their aircraft forgetting to let the wheels down?

It would seem to be a simple mistake, but the problem that is being encountered world-wide with new aircraft is the complexities of needing a degree in computer engineering as well as being a well trained pilot?

The danger is computers are taking away access to the over ride of manual control, since humans can do things still that machines cannot?

The 737MAX series was to be the last of this great line of type entering now into the 21st Century, but with the loss of two aircraft in Indonesia and Ethiopia and the complexities of control being lost in updating pilots to fly them this has caused major delays and a stump in production from building, painting and delivery!

Despite the increase in technology today in shipping and military naval forces, sailors do need to learn the basics of plotting a course at sea by the stars and using old fashioned maps, longitude and so on?

But these old beautiful vessels also have the purpose of being used in the role of educating young people, from troubled backgrounds and giving them a purpose in life, such as discipline something that is lacking in many today hence so many social problems?

Sail ships are also enjoyable for professional crews to both sail and race and they still have that aesthetic value, despite all that is new!

The British government claims that by 2020 all old stock and the Diesel fleet will be gone forever, but is this the whole truth or just a claim? One does fear that our railway stock will become so similar as our aviation has in recent years, that all will be so boring and there will be a loss of interest to filming the same trains?

Much is promised as each year their continues to be a hike in the fares, Wi-Fi on all trains, new track and signalling, new card reading machines and improvements of various types? One has to wonder will some of these rail companies end up like Carillion and bankrupt the nation of many promised projects?

Electric battery powered trains will be one future, if they work and so we will have to wait and see? The other interesting thing is that some companies are introducing locomotive hauled trains again, they claim for training purposes but perhaps not all the new stock is really working as well as hoped!

We are living in the age of International terrorism and the growing threat of the use of a dirty bomb on the British mainland is ever nearing the day? The Police use many dedicated vehicles in their various lines of work, we are seeing an increase of their deployments on our TV's because of the more reported incidents?

Some seem to be traffic incidents, but may be more sinister that they seem, much training is underway by the emergency services in preparation for another mass casualty attack such as the terrible events of Manchester earlier this year!

The role of the Police is changing from Guardians of the peace and keeping the peace to that of dealing, if not eventually be armed because of religious inspired terror and enhanced criminal activity with acid and other toxic substances!

New vehicles will need to be developed alongside existing ones to deal with the excessive cuts and the rising situations?

Army Transportation. Part-Two.

Modern Commercial Transportation.

Over the last twenty years or so many nations are now opting for civilian commercial transporters over that of their own military equivalents. This is because of two key factors cost and civil disguise in the upsurge of International terrorism.

Many other areas such as training demand the continuation of the usage as these dedicated vehicles, while many age quickly and are sold off from various arms dumps around the world. Some vehicles go overseas to continue in this role, while others are painted in commercial colours and schemes and continue in that disguise.

Heavy lifting of the Main Battle Tank was the initial role for the military transport, while also other vehicles have been designed for recovery or heavy vehicles themselves. The United States, Canada, Russia, China, India and Brazil, Australia still maintain a dedicated military fleets, because of the expanse of their less populated land mass.

There are many other types of Amphibious landing tracked vehicles such as the U.S. LVTP's, large Armoured Personnel  carriers and Surface to Air missile platforms that need to be moved over shorter distances that either their own power or that of the use of the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, C-130J Hercules, Airbus A400M, Russian Antonov An-22, 124 Ruslan and Ilyushin Il-76TDM. Embraer KC-90 transport aircraft.

Jet Trainers.

From Training to Counter-Insurgency.

We will always need aircraft of differing types to train our pilots, from simple basics to advanced flight. One of the most versatile aircraft that is available to a host of nations for both training and light attack is the Jet trainer.

The British Royal Air force and Royal Navy have the long and well tested BAE Hawk-200 Jet, this aircraft has also been adopted by the United States of America and is known as theT-45A Goshawk. France and Germany developed their own Alpha Jet, which today is newly operated by the Nigerian Air force.

Spain and Italy have also designed the Casa C-101 Avio jet and the Aermacchi MB-339. Argentina FMA IA-63 Pampa, Taiwan the AIDC AT-3, the Czech Republic Aero L-39 Albatros

Many smaller nations cannot afford the millions that a fully fledged combat jet such as the F-16 costs, so they opt for light-attack and Counter-Insurgency. What seems a mid-level machine, still has the potential to do substantial damage combined with speed. These aircraft can be fitted with a host of rockets and missiles, some can carry a 20-30mm cannon and a variety of bombs and all sorts of combinations.

Having the ability to go from a two-seat trainer to a combat role saves time and money, but of course they have their disadvantages up against the dedicated fighter combat jets.
