Upgrades and new Equipment?
Russia is advancing at an alarming rate with their armour, aircraft, ships and missiles far more advanced than the U.S. claims! Already Turkey, Saudi-Arabia and Iran with China have some of the best systems on the market in modern warfare and sadly the U.K. and NATO are getting left behind if there was an outbreak of hostilities?
We do not get to see as much as was claimed that we saw forty years ago during the so called, 'Cold War! But many upgrades have been made to armoured cars and APC's while missile and drones are much of a closed book to the west today?
Aviation on the other hand boast much new aircraft with hypersonic speeds, while the U.S. administration tells lies and Britain's 'Aurora has been a bit of a damp squib ie Novichok and the Salisbury business?

Modern Military Armour?
Since 2001 Decline of Information!
The worlds armour of today has become more technical than it ever was before, many new developments for the U.S./British Abrams/Challenger MBT (Main battle Tank) is now standard in all new armour and the world of the robotic drone is coming to the fore on the battlefield as much as in air power?
Automated drones will save the lives of soldiers in difficult places, but to what extent these vehicles are being deployed is not known!
Most wars being fought today against militants in the Middle-East and C-Asia are light pick-ups known as ''Technicals'' and these are so light that aerial drones can pick them off the field!
Armour protection with Kevlar and many new materials are being deployed, but upgraded vehicles are nearly always based on existing system's !

Re-Cycling.
Machines die Too.
Technology is always moving on and it leaves behind the old, some of the old go to museums and collectors, while the rest goes to scrap. The price of metals has slumped world wide, apart from a few precious ones, along with gold and diamonds. Most commercial aircraft contain many high value materials, along with nuclear powered naval vessels and bomber/fighter jets.
But generally most cars, ships and trains are made of steel and this can be re-cycled! Currently the United Kingdom is facing the end of its groaning steel industry, because of the Chinese glut of steel. One way to save these old plants would be to update them to re-cycle steel. Much is being said that we need to keep these plants, because of the arms industry?
But what the general public do not realise, that much of Britain's arms industry is now based with BAE system in the Republic of South-Africa. Appledore Devon last year built three frigate's for the Irish navy, Falmouth continues to build a line of small composite-material fast attack craft for the Persian Gulf states.
While Flint-Wrexham has the Airbus wings production facility. But Britain has no major shipyards, aircraft manufacturing or owns any part any longer in any mass production car plants. Now the E.U is warning that Brexit may see the loss of Airbus and several other European owned businesses.
