Submarine Drones.

With Advanced Technology?

Conventional submarines will still continue in design and operation for some time yet, but with the ever increasing speed of computer chip, Nano-chip technology one has to wonder what the future holds?

Currently most subs need to be manned, the human mind is still more advanced than the logical thinking of a man-made machine and tactics is still in the psyche of humanity to outwit the other side!

But just like aircraft and Space, the underwater world is starting to introduce drone technology to go where it is not safe to send humans and submarines! It is believed that many torpedoes in the future will be similar to the Reaper drones identifying target accusation on their own?

What we do not know is if the militaries of the world have as yet built underwater bases, and this might be a clue as to why civil investigation and research remains limited to the deeps of our Oceans and Seas?

Day of the Drones. Part-One.

Cheaper and safer?

In the long run lives will be saved in the armed forces by the introduction of battle field drones, air and sea, space and underwater!

Many people are worried and concerned about the introduction of self-thinking robotics, but we have had them in service since the 1960's and at the end of the day, they are only machines?

The British Police were seeing using a drone recently in a Midlands incident, and one believes this was to great effect to end that siege? What is to come will be of great advantage and many military aircraft programmes will be replaced by drone aircraft?

We are someway off still in relation to the drones of science-fiction, but robots are being introduced in Japan to hotels, hospitals and schools!

'Under Water. Part-Two.

World War-11 (1939-45)

It was during these six years of war that the submarine came into its real value as a weapon, with the Nazi-German navy in the early years being a menace to Allied shipping. The Wolf packs were very successful, until the German Enigma code and Sonar was broken and invented.

These submarines remained cramped to live and operate in, but they could stay underwater for longer and were faster. In fact only after world war-II was it discovered how much of a 'Coffins were the U-Boats.

It takes a certain type of person to be a submariner, the confined and underwater life would mark out men and woman to this present day. Because the submarine now is more about going deeper and not being seen at all.

Submarines.

Under water vessels and craft.

Before Irishman Hollande invented the Submarine with finances from the Irish Republican brotherhood, a fore runner of the IRA. The diving bell was really the only viable sub and we can only guess how long ago it was invented. Early records suggest the Greeks were the first, but we now understand that ancient Greek technology was only an advancement on existing ideas.

Today the Submarine in its many forms from warship to robotic craft has become an invaluable tool into research of the worlds seas, oceans and lakes. Man has gone to the Moon, planets, Mars and yet we still know very little of what lies at the bottom of the seas of our own planet.

Robotic technology was used first on the discovery of the wreck of the Titanic, the submarine has gone from the two barrel concept of Loch Ree in County Tipperary to the former Soviet class Typhoon the largest nuclear ICBM capable submarine in the world.
