Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicle

The ARV combined Vehicle?

It is strange how in modern warfare the Main battle tanks are being replaced by a newer battlefield multirole vehicle that combines the armoured car, and armoured personnel carrier with a smaller fire power than the tank and on at least six wheels.

The U.S. LAV and the Swiss MOWAG with the Finnish SISU are the bases of a new range of ARV, they being more an APC with addons?  Experience worldwide has seen the demise of the armoured car and the APC apart from para-military security operations and some UN work.

The ARV will not fully replace the MBT as yet, but robotic and drone vehicles of various types under development and secret trials probably will?

What this new generation of armour provides is the transportation of specialised troops, light artillery and rocket power combined with speed and maneuverability and much computerised and military satellite software for more accurate aiming of moving as well as static targets!

The Peoples Republic of China, N-Korea and Russia have also developed their own versions along side their traditional fleets and newer versions of their mobile missile sytems?

The Conventional?

Stuck with Now!

What we have today in technology, engineering and transport will still remain around for some time yet? Teething is always a problem with new technology, it works fine until its out trying to what is demanded of it?

Recently the U.K. has suffered from a railway cock-up failure which has not as yet fully resolved itself, yet shipping, aviation and vehicles all over the years have suffered a similar fate with breakdown, crack failures and engine problems!

Movement is big bucks today, ships provide coal, ores and grain along with chemicals, fertiliser and when things are late windows are missed and monies are lost? Many people do not understand that we cannot sow crops anytime of the year, steel has to keep rolling in the supply of sheet materials for car plants, timed foods!

Aviation is not just about moving people from A to B/Z, its also the military and specialised cargo from live produce to, flowers, horses and mail, packets that also share some of our aircraft! New Tech is promised and it will gradually come in the shape of machines may not radically change mush, but the way they are powered will!

Submarine Drones.

With Advanced Technology?

Conventional submarines will still continue in design and operation for some time yet, but with the ever increasing speed of computer chip, Nano-chip technology one has to wonder what the future holds?

Currently most subs need to be manned, the human mind is still more advanced than the logical thinking of a man-made machine and tactics is still in the psyche of humanity to outwit the other side!

But just like aircraft and Space, the underwater world is starting to introduce drone technology to go where it is not safe to send humans and submarines! It is believed that many torpedoes in the future will be similar to the Reaper drones identifying target accusation on their own?

What we do not know is if the militaries of the world have as yet built underwater bases, and this might be a clue as to why civil investigation and research remains limited to the deeps of our Oceans and Seas?

Double-Deck Railroads. Part-One.

Train lengths shortened.

The United States takes the bite in the biscuit when it comes to it new fleets of double-deck coaching stock. Four cars and a double height locomotive replaces the length of the original eight.

These high capacity units means loading more quickly and faster times between departures and arrivals. America has made the breakthrough thus far and a few other countries around the world have followed.

But it will be sometime before many escape the traditional mode of platform and train infrastructures? In the British Isles the choice has been to have back to back DMU/EMU stock, that overcomes the use of switching engines, but the high platform looks like it will stay on for some time yet.

Even HS2 will be of this conventional style that fits in with the Eurotunnel -TGV.
