Many terrorists grouping world wide have a history in using unguided rockets and mortar tubes in their attacks in the name of liberation?  

Meanwhile many people across the world will have sympathy for the self determination of being occupied by a foreign power Israel, forgetting that some thirty years ago the IRA fired mortars at No:10 downing street for their liberation from protestant imperial occupation?

What are these rockets and where do they come from in the case of the Palestinians, Iran and N-Korea, paid with by European Union medical aid, for the IRA it was home made pipes copied from Libyan supplied armaments.

In other parts of the world, Abu-Sa'if used captured U.S. equipment and so it is the same worldwide, but mainstream armies also use rocket artillery Russia being a world leader in the development of the original Kaytushka in the the BM-series which is still in production, the U.S and NATO were late into rocket artillery, and yet they had some of the first systems?

Ancient China was the first known to use rockets in their warfare and put fear into their enemies, with gunpowder mixtures, but today anything from shrapnel, ball bearings to high explosives can be used and some have either nuclear shell casing or material than can be cause of serious burns and various illnesses, if not also biological viruses?

Riot Control and Dispersal.

Every police force and Paramilitary Police have developed their own types of riot dispersal vehicles to meet the needs of the various situations that may occur? Many countries including the U.K do use semi-militarised vehicles as in N-Ireland, but France, Belgium and the U.S.A. have also those types to deal with bomb and gunfire.

The riot control vehicle was developed from both the early armoured cars and armoured personnel carriers, which were of military usage. From 1947 what we have today began in the United States, being developed from military trucks adapted to deal with the Gangsterism of the 1920'-30s.

Shorts-Landrover developed the Simba series of armoured vehicles from the early 1970's to the present, armour plating was an essential to these waggon's from IRA, Loyalist and other smaller factional groupings. Blast, nail, pipe bombs, Snipers, sustained machine gunfire, petrol and other mixed concoction bombs were the main threat in the major towns and cities!

But the former RUC Royal Ulster Constabulary, had relied on the Thompson's Handy Andy truck conversion from 1922 to 1969, but in the Ulster countryside it was the landmines and home-made Culvert bombs that were fatal to these new Land rovers?

Armies tend to have heavy vehicles for serious fighting, but not all conflict situation develop into full scale wars and so to meet this need the police are armed. From Northern-Ireland to South-Africa and many other places from Colombia to East-Timor these specially adapted light armoured cars have been developed. 

Shorts developed a land rover into an small four wheel Armoured Personnel carrier, known as the Simba, which has seen service in various versions from the early 1970's to the present day, where they are now painted white.

During the 'Troubles 1969 to 1999 these vehicles were painted Grey and deployed to all riot situations, which of were of a sectarian or anti-British nature and the RUC had to keep the two sides apart, backed up by the British army. The vehicles sadly where no match in the countryside for IRA landmines.

Many of these vehicles have since laid the basis for the British Army Snatch Rovers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan along with the Supa Cats. Meanwhile there are several different types exported worldwide one being the Dav'id used in Israel by the Border police.
